I've always felt a draw and intrigue towards the “symbol” of the hand. The endless ways we use our hands, to create, to cook, to console. And I’ve always loved the way they looked, when portrayed in art, etc.

I originally designed this for those reasons, as well as the imagery of this particular design reminding me that we can always choose the good.

Having, in the last few years, becoming a Christian and knowing God made me (and everything!), I see good as capital “G” Good. I’ve come to understand that the light I was always trying to reach is THE Light. God.

This piece now comes off with new meaning to me. Many verses from scripture, Jesus healing both physical and spiritual, God’s “righteous right hand” (symbolic, I know) —so much!

(I hesitate to say too much about my pieces, because I don’t like to manipulate someone’s emotions. Please know that. I just had a lot to say about this piece!)
